Husang International Workcamp
Build A Xanadu For Elderlies!
Because of the geographical constraints, the elderly here do not have a lot of interaction with other people. In 2013, Hondao held elder’s percussion ensemble and there are 15 elders join it. We aim to let Taiwan’s seniors enjoy healthier, safer, and dignified lives in their own homes and communities. Therefore, the international workcamp is held in Husan community to active the elder life.
2015年臺北市北投區湖山社區將第一次舉辦國際工作營，湖山里是位在陽明山國家公園內的純樸社區。因社區屬於狹長型，房子建築都依著山坡地形而蓋，來回往返屬於斜坡道路，雖然居民彼此互相認識，但受限環境造成彼此聯絡感情的不便利，因此希望藉由國際工作營，讓國際志工以及在地青年，一同來關懷服務在地長輩，並共同改造社區公共空間，帶給社區共同的話題與回憶，重視社區老人照顧，讓湖山社區成為臺北的世外桃源。
Project Aims
1.To transform the community into an attractive paradise for seniors to live.
2.To wear the Aging Simulation experience the feeling of sensory perceptions that elders may have, to feel empathy and care about the need of elders.
活動目標：
1. 將湖山社區打造成一處適合長輩居住的世外桃源。
2. 讓青年志工們更認識台灣的老人、台灣社區的發展，建立對高齡者正向的觀念與認識，體認活躍老化意義，促進代間交流。
Works
1. Caring the elders : We will be grouped to discuss and plan some activities such as Playing Percussion, House cleaning for the elderly.
2. Beautify community: You will help to make Index for Ho Sang Community Center and paint the wall next to the park.
3. To plan the summer celebration, you may participate in elderlies’ orchestra.
工作內容：
1. 志工分組討論和長輩互動的活動或遊戲，如：打鼓或其他樂器演奏，或者可以為長輩作居家環境的整理，透過與年輕人的交流，提高長輩的代間互動及社會參與。
2. 位於前山公園，是遊客人來人往最頻繁的地方，陽明山國家公園管理處完成整修前山公園後，因在一側有民宅，將會取得住民同意，進行外牆彩繪改造，讓前山公園能有一致性景色；湖山區民活動中心因坐落在小路當中不甚明顯，因此將請志工在沿路設計顯眼指標，讓在地居民更可以一目了然，讓活動中心可以活絡運用。
3. 在兩週活動的最後尾聲，將邀請志工規畫一夏日晚會，並邀請在地居民參與，透過美食、音樂、表演的方式來交流彼此的文化及風俗習慣。
